Saffron FAQs

Where is Bagh Honey saffron from?

Our saffron comes from Herat, Afghanistan, a region known for growing saffron. It is sold in a 1-gram pack and delivered across Pakistan.

Is Bagh Honey saffron lab-tested?

Yes. Our saffron was tested at the PCSIR Laboratories Complex, Peshawar (report PLC/MBC/362/2026). The lab confirmed, based on organoleptic and microscopic features, that the sample is genuine Crocus sativus (zafran).

How can I verify the saffron lab report?

Open the report image on this page or tap "View Lab Report (PDF)". Note the report number PLC/MBC/362/2026 and quote it to PCSIR Peshawar (plcpcsir@gmail.com, +92 91 9221432) to confirm.

What does the PCSIR report confirm about this saffron?

It confirms the botanical identity and purity of the sample: that it is real Crocus sativus saffron. It does not give ISO 3632 colouring-strength grades, crocin, safranal and picrocrocin values, or the place of origin.

How do I know if saffron is pure?

Real saffron threads are deep red with a slightly lighter orange tip, release colour slowly into warm water, and have a distinct, slightly bitter-sweet aroma. Threads that turn the water bright red at once, feel oily, or crumble into powder are suspect. A lab report from a recognised laboratory is the most reliable check.

How much saffron should I use?

A small pinch of 4–6 threads is usually enough for a cup of tea or milk, and a slightly larger pinch for a family-size pot of rice or kheer.

Do you deliver saffron across Pakistan with Cash on Delivery?

Yes. We dispatch from Batkhela, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and deliver nationwide in Pakistan with Cash on Delivery available.

How should I store saffron?

Store it in an airtight container in a cool, dark, dry place. Heat, light, and moisture reduce saffron's colour and aroma over time.

Does Honey Crystallize?

Yes, pure honey may naturally crystallize over time, especially in winter. All honey crystallizes except Berry (Sidr) honey. This is a sign of its purity, not spoilage. Some companies heat honey excessively (heating process) to prevent crystallization, which keeps it liquid but reduces its natural nutrients and flavor. To liquefy crystallized honey, place the jar in warm water (below 40°C), and it will return to its original state
